(Not that this game can truly be more spoiled than it already is.)In this game you play as Joy Wander, a woman who is having mysterious flashbacks about a circus. So on a dark and stormy night Joy decides to leave her husband and go search for the mysterious circus of her dreams. She leaves her husband a note about her disappearance so he doesn't worry, of course.Joy arrives at an abandoned circus, and her flashbacks become more vivid- such that it turns out the majority of game play is spent in her colorful circus memories rather than the urban decay I was hoping for. Indeed, the derelict remains of the abandoned circus are far more interesting than the flashback scenes and the idiotic characters Joy interacts with. As it turns out, the plot of this game revolves around apprehending a missing tiger cub in the flashbacks. A cub that, for some reason, the circus staff seems to regularly allow to wander around as it pleases, rather than keeping it confined to the tiger cage where it belongs. What could go wrong? In the game, very little time is spent in the derelict "current" scenes. In the derelict scenes, you have to manipulate some objects in order to open the way to the flashback scenes. Manipulating the objects involves just a bunch of random clicking on the screen, because there is relatively no guidance on what you are supposed to do. Once you get through the puzzles and into the flashback scenes, you get some dialogue with stupid characters who are of no help to you in your quest. Instead you have to help them with their chores by doing hidden object scenes. To the game's credit, the hidden object scenes in the flashbacks aren't terrible- this is really the game's only redeeming quality.Once Joy catches the tiger cub and recieves accolades from all the stupid characters, Joy returns to a derelict scene that features a bizzare electronic machine. Apparently this machine is the reason that the circus is in it's abandoned, decayed state. There's no explanation as to who put that machine there, or why they did it. There's no explanation why the chase for the tiger cub was integral to the plot of the story. It just felt like the developers were in a pinch to finish the game by their deadline, and were like, "The cause of the circus's woes was due to an electronic machine that showed up for no reason, but it warps space and time! Don't worry about why- just accept it! Oh, and here's a tiger cub."This game would have been better served if it had been split into two vastly different games. Use the haunting, derelict scenes to write a haunting and eerie story line; then take the colorful scenes, tiger cub, and dopey characters and write a seperate game to market toward children..
